If you are coming by train we suggest you book straight through to Shanklin. (A rail card would save you some money) Contact The rail company on 08457484950. There is a Bus

(Number 3) from Shanklin to Ventnor, which runs every 30 minutes daytime and 60 minutes evenings. Alternatively a Taxi fare from Shankin to the Hotel is approximately Ł9. Ferries for

guests coming by car are Red Funnel via Southampton to Cowes Tel: 02380 334010. Wightlink from Portsmouth to Fishbourne or Lymington to Yarmouth Tel 0870 5827744. Booking

on line can save you money.

Directions from the Ferry Ports

Cowes or Yarmouth: First follow signs to Newport then once in Newport follow signs to Sandown & Shanklin then signs to Shanklin. On reaching Shanklin follow signs for Ventnor.

Once in Ventnor head for the centre of the town. You will reach a one-way system where you will need to turn left follow the road round to a set of traffic lights and turn right after about

150m the Troubadour is on the right. If spaces are available there is on street parking on your left, limited to 30 minutes, but long enough to unload your luggage. A long term car park is a

further 100m on the left

From Fishbourne. Follow signs to Ryde, Once in Ryde follow signs to Sandown and then to Shanklin When you reach Shanklin follow directions to Ventnor and the Hotel as above.

We recommend that Guests travelling by bus and who intend to use the bus network during their stay should buy a 'Rover Ticket' or a 'Freedom Ticket' when they first use the bus. They

will work out a lot cheaper than buying single journey tickets. Ask the driver for advise as to which ticket best suits your requirements.(Note: These tickets cannot be purchased or used

on the 'Rail Link' bus.)
