Ventnors Sheltered sandy beach is a 'Sun Trap' and one of the sunniest place on the island, an obvious attraction to our guests, and the Troubadour is the obvious choice being only a 5 minute walk away.But there is so much more to Ventnor than just the beach.Walk around the town and the buildings, mostly Victorian but some older, quickly tell you that Ventnor has a history.

Pop into the Ventnor Heritage Museum in the town centre or the Longshoreman's Museum on the sea front for a fascinating insight into the towns past.

Wander along to the Botanical Gardens, housed in the grounds of the old hospital, it is a must for all Garden lovers and plant enthusiasts alike. The mild winter climate allows many sub-tropical  plants to grow outdoors all the year round. Stroll around the gardens, visit the Temperate house  where there are plants for sale,and don't forget the visitor centre and shop.

For walkers and cyclists Ventnor is a paradise! The costal path that circles the island passes along the sea front and from there take a walk heading west up onto the cliff tops towards St Lawrence or east past Bonchurch and through the woods towards Shanklin. Either way you will find impressive scenery. Or take the walk up to St Boniface down where there are impressive views across the island. On a clear day it is possible to see Southampton on the mainland. For a  longer  walk try the 'Stenbury Trail' a 10 mile route passing through some of the Islands most beautiful villages to the capital, Newport. Cyclists can pick up the 'Sunshine Trail' at Wroxall just 2 miles from Ventnor an enjoy a fascinating and varied circular tour. Just one of many marked cycle routes on the island.

Other attractions include, Isle of Wight glass, The Donkey Sanctuary, Appledurcombe House, Blackgang Chine, a favorite with children, are just a short drive or bus ride away. Venture further a field and you will find a wealth of interest for everyone. Historical homes, and castles a zoo plus other animal parks and sanctuaries. New in
2010 the 'Owl and Monkey Haven' has become a very popular attraction, Museums,include a Military museum, Bus and Boat Museum Plus fun parks for the children plus much much more.  season with new enclosures finished at the end of last year and additions to the animals. Osbourne House and Carrisbrook Castle are just two of the properties maintained by English Heritage both with royal connections, Osborne being Queen Victoria's favourite palace, and Carrisbrook is where King Charles 1st was imprisoned after his defeat at the end of the English Civil War.

Many Annual events are hosted on the island the most famous being Cowes week for yachting enthusiasts and the Isle of Wight music festival.  Many Car Clubs hold rallies on the island. Walking and Cycling festivals for all abilities to join in are other popular regulars.  With  approximately 65 miles of coastline a wealth of beaches from safe bathing, with lifeguards, to secluded coves and everything in between. A lot is packed into a small island and remember nothing is very far away. Come, enjoy and relax !
